Daily strength for daily needs

For whatever reason, we have few models for an adult son’s relationship with his mother. We know fathers interact with sons in pubs, sport arenas, and driving trips but there is no clear equivalent. In Will Schwalbe’s The End of Your Life Book Club, a son leans close to his mother through books. Both devour the same works and discuss characters and values and endings. They share favorite passages. They do this most times during chemotherapy because the mother is slowly dying of cancer.
